Guest Author Wednesdays ♥ Jo Anne Myers

Hello everyone. I’m thrilled to have Paranormal / Fantasy Author and Painting enthusiast, JoAnne Myers stop by. She’s sharing some about poetry (in good times and bad) today. Don’t forget to leave her a little love below!

I hail from the famous Hocking Hills region of southeastern Ohio. I have worked in the blue-collar industry most of my life. Besides having several novels under my belt, I also canvass paint.

When not busy with hobbies or working outside the home, I spend time with relatives, my dogs Jasmine and Scooter, and volunteer my time within the community. I am a member of the Hocking Hill’s Arts and Craftsmen Association, The Hocking County Historical Society and Museum, and the Hocking Hills Regional Welcome Center. I believe in family values and following your dreams.

“Poems About Life, Love, and Everything in Between” is a poetry collection that provides a glimpse into the heart, mind and soul, of its author. It is a heartwarming read, written with love and respect for others. Some poems were written in times of sorrow, other poems were written in times of joyous celebration. Life if like that.

MY YEARS

I have traveled many years long.

I call it the journey of life.

To go out amidst the throng,

and meet what e’er the strife.

In these years I’ve completed

a plane, which I view with delight.

Then I found myself seated,

taking on life’s great flight.

When I heard the motor starting,

I settled in my seat to rest.

Then, with a feeling of imparting,

I remembered the things I love best.

Now my plane will be safe, I feel sure,

for I built it with care untold;

I know it is made to endure,

he weather, both stormy and cold.

And though the skies are unknown,

through which I still must test.

I hope to travel my way alone,

and reach life’s airport ”Success.”

MARRIAGE VOW

I turned a page today,

in my book of life, so dear.

Memories of my happy day,

to my heart there was some fear.

But I ponder at the parting,

from my friends and family, I adore.

For I know there are no friendships,

like these which I have stored.

Now I hesitate a moment,

wondering which way to turn.

Shall I be content to linger,

or be willing to work and learn?

I know the way will not be easy,

by which many go.

But the guidance of my mother,

has fitted me to fight the foe.

I turn another page;

my goal is to reach greater heights.

To be striving and toiling over.

To do that which is right.

I may never be famous,

after life’s battle is won.

But let me be content,

if my work is judged, well done.

About the author

TempeO

Tempeste O’Riley grew up in the deep south and escaped her conservative, oppressive roots as soon as she could. Tempe is an out and proud omnisexual/bi-woman whose best friend growing up had the courage to do what she couldn’t – defy the hate and come out. He has been her hero ever since.

Though new to writing M/M, she has done many things in her life but writing has always drawn her back – no matter what else life has thrown her way. She counts her friends, family, and Muse as her greatest blessings in life.
